When viewing the XML preview of a parent node of that service and going back to edit the XML seems to retain the auto formatting from the preview.

This doesn't affect runtime initially, but any change will make the formatting persistent and potentially add unwanted whitespace to any nodes with mixed content (See PartListHTMLID in example screenshots).
